St. Oliver Plunkett's Mourns the loss of a dear friend!

3rd Jun 2023

It is with deepest regret and heartfelt sadness, that we announce the devastating loss of Mairead Kerr (nee Farrell), our esteemed ex-colleague (retired) and dear friend who passed away peacefully on Friday 2nd June surrounded by her beloved family and friends.

Mairead served the St. Oliver Plunkett’s community for an astonishing 43 years in her many roles within the school, and it is her wonderful smile and caring nature that will be most fondly missed, but certainly never forgotten! Throughout her time with us, Mairead’s love, dedication and unwavering care for each and every child, shone through brightly and she will be sadly missed by everyone who was privileged to have met or worked with her.

Every boy and girl who attended the school during the time when Mairead worked there will easily recall, and can attest to, her kind and patient nature and they will fondly remember the nurturing care that she provided to all, including staff and pupils alike!

On behalf of the staff, Board of Governors, pupils, their families and all of the St. Oliver Plunkett’s community (past and present), we offer our sincerest condolences to the Kerr and Farrell families and we offer up our prayers for Mairead, her family and her friends at this time.
