St. John the Baptist's College Blitz
The boys and girls of P6 and P7 enjoyed their first outing of the year attending the St. John the Baptist's College annual football blitz on Friday past.
On what was a gloriously sunny and bright day for the most part, (except for the drenching we all got in the last 10minutes!!!) the boys and girls yet again displayed their outstanding footballing abilities coupled with their impeccable manners and good behaviour. Both teams won their way through to the Cup and Shield semi-finals but unfortunately lady luck wasn't shining on them and they narrowly missed out on final spots by the narrowest of margins.
Pictured below are both of our panels sporting their brand new jerseys courtesy of the kind sponsorship from QLC Solutions and the Friends of St. Oliver Plunkett's PTA.
We want to extend our gratitude and thanks to Mrs. Leatham, Mr. McAleenan and Miss. Gervin for inviting us and putting on a fabulous tournament. A big words of thanks also to the pupils of St. John the Baptist's who refereed and organising the pitches on the day. A great job all around.
And finally, we extend our well wishes to one of our own pupils who picked up a nasty injury during one of the games. Everyone at the school wishes Conor a speedy recovery and we promise to keep his place on the team for when he is fit to play again.
