SOPPS Pupil Displays Amazing Gesture of Kindness
Here at St. Oliver Plunkett's Primary School we are always striving to instil an understanding of the Gospel valuesin our pupils and help them to put these into action in the real world. We also aim to recognise and celebrate examples of when members of our school community display these Gosepl values and there is no greater example than that shown by young Deirbhile recently.
A pupil in one of our younger classes, when her birthday came around not so long ago, Deirbhile didn't want or ask for any new presents or gifts for herself, instead she asked that anyone attending her birthday make a donation to Barnados for, "the children that mummy works with!"
The result was that Deirbhile donated an amazing amount of £160 to Barnardo's and she is proudly pictured below showing off a thank you letter received from the childrens' charity. Well done Deirbhile and also to everyone who donated to the collection - you all can be very proud of your compassion, kindness towards others and beautiful generoisty!
