SOPPS Bids Fond Farewell to our P7 Leavers
It is with a mixture of sadness tinged with immense pride that we celebrated the Leavers’ Mass for the P7 pupils of 2022/23. The first of the events to mark the end of their time with us was to present the pupils with their brand new and eagerly awaiting Leavers’ Tops. Each pupil was as proud as punch wearing their new garments and they will certainly be fantastic ambassadors for our school in the years to come as they proudly sport their school colours.
Next up it was their final weekly assembly where each teacher spoke glowingly of the fabulous personalities and personal traits of each and every child. Mrs. Fearon in particular spoke exceedingly kindly about how wonderful a class they had been and we all wished them a fond farewell with the entire school lining out for the now obligatory P7 Procession.
And finally it was left to the P7 class, ably supported by the P6 pupils, to celebrate their last official Mass with us when Fr. Murphy and the families of the pupils joined us in the yard for the Leavers’ Mass. And what a wonderful ceremony it was with fabulous reading, singing and instrument playing showcasing the talents of our wonderful P7s.
All that is left is for us to wish the boys and girls all the very best in their futures and it goes without saying that they will always be welcome back in the future to tell us how they are getting on! Ádh mór croíúil oraibh a chairde agus go n-éirí an bóthar libh!
