We were delighted to host our friends from Derryhale P.S. last week to school for Day 2 of our Shared Education project for this year. We started off by exploring various sports from around the world by studying their superstars, the required equipment, the team jerseys/colours and of course the major trophies that can be won playing each of these sports. This gave us an opportunity to display to the boys and girls that sports are not restricted to any one group and they can be played and enjoyed by all.
After the classroom activity, we then moved outside to get our pulses pumping and every pupil participated in a short session in GAA, rugby, basketball and dance, all aimed at having fun together outside regardless of the activity.
As ever, huge thanks goes to Derryhale PS for coming to visit and a special mention to Mr. Glenny, the newly appointed principal of Derryhale. We wish him, his staff and of course the pupils all the very best for the rest of the year.
