Our P6 and P7 pupils are continuing their preparation for the upcoming Confirmation ceremony which will be happening shortly after Easter. A major part of these preparations is to celebrate our Service of Light where a parent/guardian hands on the light of faith to their son/daughter through the symbolic passing on of a lit candle.
We were delighted to host this ceremony with Fr. Murphy on Tuesday afternoon in school and the hall was packed for this wonderful occasion.
We were also very happy to have Eileen Smyth, head of the Kilmore Pioneers' Association in attendance to hear our pupils take their confirmation pledge and present the boys and and girls with their pioneer membership cards. Those pupils who ordered Pioneer Pins were also presented with their Pins by Eileen.
All in all it was a lovely ceremony and a great prelude to what promises to be an even more wonderful and spiritual Confirmtaion in the next few weeks.
