Pupils from Primary 1 and 2 enjoyed reconnecting with their friends from Derryhale P.S during Shared Education. We used the Media Initiative puppets to explore the importance of being kind to others and how this can help us make new friends.
We focused on Kathleen who lives in trailer and how she finds it hard to make new friends because her family travel around from place to place. Kathleen helped another child in the park who was afraid of a dog. Because of her kindness, Kathleen became friends with Jenny and they had so much fun playing together.
Pupils then looked at the different types of houses people live in from all over the world. They then drew pictures of a house they would like to live in.
