Odd Socks Day
We were delighted to be able to celebrate World Down Syndome Day (WDSD) which is a global awareness day which has been officially observed by the United Nations since 2012. The date for WDSD being the 21st day of the 3rd month was selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndrome. So on the 21st March every year we celebrate the event to advocate for the rights, inclusion and well being of all people with Down syndrome around the world.
There are lots of colours on show and the pupils had great fun comparing all the bright and multicoloured socks. Check out these photos below to see all the bright colours on show!
