To help us celebrate Maths Week Ireland and enable the pupils to play some fun and engaging maths challenges at home, we hosted a Sumdog competition last week in most year groups. The pupils were given an open ended challenge to score as many points as they could with the highest degree of accuracy possible - and boy did they not let us down.
The total number of combined correct answers scored across the week by everyone was 70,986. An unbelievable total and a real sign of the level of engagement not only by the pupils in their numeracy work but also by the families and guardians in supporting them to extend their mathematical learning beyond the school day at home.
Pictured are the highest points scorers and pupils with the highest level of accuracy. In addition to these awards we also issued a certificate to each and every child who participated in the competition.
