Loneliness Network Visit to Collegeland's Nursing Home

4th Feb 2025

Here at St. Oliver Plunkett's we place a huge amount of emphasis on establishing our community links and giving the pupils learning experiences outside of the classroom where they think of and show consideration for others in our community. That is why our involvement in the Loneliness Network is such a wonderful part of our school ethos. And so, last Friday we were privileged to be welcomed into Collegeland's Nursing home once again to help the residents celebrate St. Brigid's Day.

The visit was a wonderful opportunity for the choir and tin whistle group in the school to meet with the residents and spend some time talking to them about their lives and careers. As always, Alison made us feel very welcome and so we were thrilled to be able to treat the residents to a short concert of tin whistle playing and singing. A huge well done to each and every pupil for the fantastic behaviour and we look forward to our next visit to the care home when we will help the residents celebrate Easter.
