Out P5, P6 and P7 boys put in a performance for everyone to be proud of at the annual St. Patrick's Grammar blitz today to take home the Cardinal O'Fee Cup for 2022.
Having played fantastically well during the groups stages winning two of their matches and losing only 1, they progressed to a tough semifinal assignment against St. Patrick's P.S. Cullyhanna. A tense match was won thanks to heroic defending of our back line, tireless work rate from middle of the field and some beautiful score taking by the forwards.
In the final we were up against a strong St. Patrick's P.S. Armagh team but again the hard work, breathless work rate and no shortage of sublime skill saw the boys over the line. Cue the jubilant celebrations and needless to say the bus journey back to Ballyhegan was a noisy one indeed.
We want to thank our partners in the Davitt's Ballyhegan for the continued support with Gaelic sports development in school and thankfully some of the club members were there to cheer on the lads and share in the celebrations with them.
A huge well done to all the boys again today and we look forward now to a fruitful and fun-filled Cumann na mBunscol Spring League.
