Primary 1 and 2 pupils recently visited their friends in Derryhale Primary School as part of our Shared Education Programme. This week we watched a clip showing how the Media Initiative puppets enjoyed playing different ball games in the park. This led us to look at different games and sports that are played using balls and sticks. Children were able to identify various sports and we explored how and why sports use different shaped balls and how sticks are handled in sports like hurling, camogie and hockey.
Children then had the opportunity to design their own sports top followed by some outdoor fun with a football and a rugby ball.
