Double, double, toil and trouble, fire burn and cauldron bubble!
Primary 3 and 4 had a spooktastic day in school today! This morning, during Literacy time, the P3 witches and wizards were really busy drawing and labelling their very own gruesome potions. Meanwhile the P4 witches and wizards wrote spine-tingling and stomach turning magic potion recipes! We listened to spooky music as we worked. This really helped us to get into character and encouraged us to use our wonderful imaginations! This afternoon, we continued our frightful fun during our World Around Us lesson. The witches and wizards worked in groups to make a bubbling witch's brew. First of all, we made our predictions. Then we carried out a science investigation to check if we were right. We learnt that the magic potion bubbled and fizzed because a chemical reaction took place between the vinegar and the baking soda. The witches and wizards displayed their excellent group work skills. They took turns and listened to others. Cross-curricular learning is so much fun! Happy Halloween from the witches and wizards of Ballyhegan!
