Ditch the Stabilisers and Orienteering with Sustrans
We had a very busy week recently with Dave from Sustrans who came in on Wednesday and Thursday to work with the pupils and their parents/guardians.
First up were the pupils from P2 and P3 for a Ditch the Stabiliser session. The parents/guardians and Dave were able to share some tips and 'trick of the trade' to help the boys and girls transition from using stabilisers on their bikes to, in some cases, riding their bicycles entirely on their own. We'll done to everyone who participated!
Next came a wonderfully enjoyable Orienteering session for our P5 pupils. Dave put up a series of clues and symbols around the school grounds and set the pupils to finding as many as they could in the time available. The pupils absolutely loved the activity and their map reading skills certainly come on leaps and bounds before the session ended.
A huge thank you goes to Dave and Systrans as always for their amazing support of the school. Go raibh maith agaibh!
