Fast on the heels of our wonderful P4 Communion class, the P6s and P7s celebrated their Ceremony of Light today in school with Fr. Murphy. A major stepping stone on their journey to Confirmation, the ceremony provided parents/guardians with the opportunity to pass on the light of faith to their sons/daughters and help them prepare for receiving the Holy Spirit in a little less than a fortnight away.
As always, we are indebted to Fr. Murphy for his pastoral and spiritual support, the staff of the school for the work that goes in to preparing such an event and Mrs. Hendon for the wonderful music. A special word of thanks also to Mrs. McGrane and the local Pioneers' Association for their work in providing the pioneer pins and certificates for those taking their Confirmation Pledges.
