Bees 🐝
14th May 2021
During science week, P6/7 learned about bees and the important part they play in our fragile ecosystem.
The children examined honeycomb and saw the hexagonal cells made by the bees to store honey in. We discussed what we can do to encourage and help bees and how important it is to do this as bees are vital to all life on earth.
All kinds of insects were investigated and we learned how insects are adapted to their environments and have fascinating characteristics. The children chose a challenge, then designed Robo Bug. Their prototype Robo Bug had to incorporate different insect abilities and adaptations that will help solve the challenge!
