🚒 Primary 1 Visit Armagh Fire Station 🚒
We wish to extend a huge thank you to Firefighter Kevin McAuley and all of the wonderful staff at Armagh Fire Station for hosting our Primary 1 pupils during a recent school trip. Primary 1 children have been learning about ‘People Who Help Us’ in our community and we have been focusing specifically this week, on firefighters.
Children got to see first hand the daily running of the fire station including the gym, dining room, boot room and where the fire engines are kept. We got to see how quickly fire fighters have to get changed in the event of a call out and we learned why each piece of clothing was important for safety reasons.
Children got to watch some training in action and they each got to spray some water from the hose. To top the morning off, all children had the opportunity to sit inside the fire engine.
Great memories of a great day.
